Here we have an Airfix Interceptor box by Brazilian toy makers Kiko.
The boxes were made in England and produced for the Brazilian market where they made the plastic kits.
All the models were made by Kikoler com ind de plasticos S.A. in Brazil from moulds supplied by Airfix England.
In the 80’s Brazil had high tariffs on goods such as toys so it was very expensive to import them, as a result parts and moulds were transferred from the UK and were assembled in Brazil
This particular box was short lived as Airfix thought it was cheaper to have kits made in Brazil then to manufacture them made here in the UK so Airfix
chose to move the whole operation back to the UK.
Very few Kiko Airfix models of this type have survived, making this a real and truly rare box to own.
If your an Airfix collector, Gerry Anderson or Captain Scarlet collector you will know that collecting the Interceptors by Airfix is a big thing, but to find one by Kiko is another story.
